The landscape design of the new Engl Joinery showroom transforms the entrance area into a contemporary space of welcome, where greenery becomes an integral part of the architecture. In front of the new building, a vegetation carpet of perennials, grasses, small shrubs and bulbs guides visitors through the transition between public and interior space.
The intervention brings a fragment of nature back to the industrial area, creating a visual and sensory counterpoint to the material character of the building.
A border of split local stone, laid in block form, defines the edge of the green space and introduces a material language coherent with the context. Towards the planted areas, the transition between paved and green surfaces becomes more fluid, integrating the stone strip as a compositional element of the garden. Clusters of larger shrubs and small trees add verticality and depth, shaping perspectives and structuring the space. On the northern side, a slightly raised platform in solid larch wood, connected by a narrow walkway, serves as a flexible space for events, exhibitions and artistic installations. At the entrance, a broader platform accessible by ramp welcomes visitors and staff, offering a green pause area that encourages rest and interaction.
The result is a refined and contemporary entrance landscape, balancing material precision and natural softness, and expressing the company’s craftsmanship identity through the language of landscape design.
